Meet Dr. Marissa Leong

Chiropractor

Dr. Marissa Leong is a St. Louis native and Cor Jesu alum. While earning her degree in public health and training to be a health educator, her love of women's health was ignited. After exhausting medical interventions during a personal health issue, Dr. Leong eventually found chiropractic and holistic care was the only care that truly helped her body heal and function the way it was supposed to. Upon learning more about Chiropractic and finding it aligned with her own principles and values in health care, Dr. Leong enrolled at Logan College of Chiropractic.

During her time at Logan, Dr. Leong had the honor of being a Logan Gonstead Intern. Throughout her studies, she applied her passion for women and infants health by studying and applying special techniques (ie. SOT cranial work and certification in Webster Technique) to young women, pregnant women, and infants.

Dr. Leong is excited to be able to care for those in the St. Louis community by helping individuals live out their greatest potential by restoring life expression.

Why Naturopathy

Why Chiropractic?

It can help with

Function

Your brain controls everything in your body! By adjusting the spine, brain-body connection is restored. This restoration allows your body to function the way it was designed to!

Infants and Children

Infants and children grow fast and put their little bodies through so much. Chiropractic care helps kiddos grow with less stress on the communication and coordination systems of the body.

Headaches

Headaches can be debilitating and affect how you interact with people and world around you. To relieve the tension, implementing a Chiropractic headache protocol can help.

Women's Health

Chiropractic adjustments help support a woman's body throughout the month and is tailored to the different stages and changes.

When the time comes to starting a family, it is important to care for your body pre-conception. During pregnancy mom's body is undergoing many changes and baby's environment can be affected as well.

Gut Health

Dysfunction in the spine can cause various disruptions to your digestive function ie. nausea, acid reflux, etc.

Chiropractic adjustments restores proper function in these areas of the body by restoring communication and coordination of the gut muscles.

Stress & Mental Health

Your mental health affects your body significantly and can manifest physically. Chiropractic adjustments help to active your parasympathetic nervous system aka "rest and digest" to promote healing and relaxation while decreasing stress.

Logan Basic

Logan Basic Technique utilizes x-rays and postural findings to identify spinal distortions.

The Logan adjustment is low force adjustment that restores balance to body.

Adding Webster Technique protocol to this adjustment helps expecting mom's through pregnancy.

Gonstead

The Gonstead Method uses a combination of instrumentation, palpation (feeling your spine), and x-rays to create a specific adjustment for your specific spine.

The Gonstead adjustment focuses on disc theory to restore proper movement and pressure on the discs (IVDs) between the bones of the spine.

SOT

Elements of SOT are often incorporated in pediatric care and in special cases depending on what your body needs and responds to.

Sacro-occipital Technique (SOT) which, is based on the relationship and imbalanced patterns between the sacrum and the cranium (more specifically the occiput).
